Grade submissions

Auto-grading, manual review, and releasing results.

Updated 13 July 2026

How grading works

  • Objective questions (MCQs) are auto-graded on submission.
  • Subjective answers go to your manual review queue — nothing is auto-scored on your behalf; a submission needing review is never silently finalised.

Reviewing

  1. Open the assessment → Submissions.
  2. Work through the "Needs review" list; enter marks and optional feedback per answer.
  3. Marks are validated against the question's maximum — you can't accidentally award 15/10.

Releasing results

Once grading is complete, results are released to students and reflected in Insights. Students see per-question feedback where you provided it. Correct answers for a live assessment are never exposed to students before submission.
